A Makuta virus that Takanuva was exposed to in an alternate universe granted him the ability to fly.1
In the alternate universe of the Toa Empire, Krika temporarily gave Takanuva the ability to fly using a Makuta virus. The virus was a fine powder which Krika blew into Takanuva's face and Takanuva breathed in.2
