The Niazesk were a species of tiny insects created long ago by the Brotherhood of Makuta to keep larger Rahi beasts in check using their toxic bite. Makuta Mutran brought some samples of the insects to Karda Nui, where the strange waters mutated the Niazesk to great size and increased the potency of their poison. Now they haunted the swamps of the core, one more danger in a land full of them.1

Niazesk were large, insectoid creatures, each about seven feet high, with four arms with nasty stingers on the ends. Niazesk were pets of the Makuta who somehow got transformed into the larger form seen in Karda Nui. They were good flyers and able to evade attacks.2
