The inside front cover provides brief backstory.
The centerfold promotes the "Search for the Gold Mask Sweepstakes." This includes a cut-out form to be sent by mail and defines the official rules of the contest. Four grand prize winners will receive a 3-day/2-night trip for 5 to the "Ultimate BIONICLE Power Bash" (time and place TBA), an event which includes a day with skateboarder Andy MacDonald. The grand prize also includes various items, including a toy-sized 14 karat gold mask. Also, 100 first prize winners will receive a skateboard signed by Andy Mac. The contest is open to residents of the US and Canada between the ages of 7 and 14. The centerfold also promotes the associated "Find the Power" Tour 2001 and lists the various cities in the US and Canada where it is scheduled to visit throughout the summer. Alongside this is a photo of skateboarder Andy MacDonald.
A second centerfold lists the Toa and Turaga's Great and Noble Masks of Power, describing each of their powers. It promotes a Toys R Us event on August 11, 2001, where customers will receive a mask collecting poster with any BIONICLE purchase.
A back page advertises the Quest for the Masks Trading Card Game and the three theme decks.
Another back page advertises the BIONICLE Tribal Quest at Legoland California, a Bionicle-themed scavenger hunt. Those who complete the quest will receive a limited edition Lewa mask.
More back pages also promote the "Build Your Own BIONICLE Website Contest" and define its official rules. The contest will be judged in two age groups: 12 and under and 13 and over. The contest is open from May 1 to September 24, 2001. The BIONICLE Web kit available at bionicle.com may be used to help build the site. One grand prize winner from each age group will receive a "BIONICLE Power Prize Package" including a toy-sized 14 karat gold mask, a Universal Power Pack, and other items. The page includes a cut-out form to be sent by mail.
More back pages showcase the Rahi (except for the Manas). They also promote www.bionicle.com and the upcoming BIONICLE PC Game, "BIONICLE: The Legend of Mata Nui," coming in Fall 2001. They advertise a free limited edition Mask of Time with purchase of the game.
The back cover advertises the "Villagers of Mata Nui," a McDonald's Happy Meal promotion from September 7 to 27, 2001. It describes each of the villager characters.
