The Official Guide to BIONICLE is the first guidebook in Scholastic's BIONICLE series, describing various aspects of the characters, creatures, places, and events encountered in the BIONICLE story up to mid-2003, including the introduction of the Rahkshi. It consists mostly of very terse character biographies. Chronologically, it is narrated during the events of Mask of Light, while Takua and Jaller are on their quest to find the seventh Toa. It contains a number of messages written in the Matoran alphabet which provided clues as to the identity of the seventh Toa, which was part of the Search for the Seventh Toa Sweepstakes.
