The Devastator was a type of weapon manufactured on Xia. It was a thirty-foot-long lance designed to allow a Skakdi mounted on a Tahtorak to kill an opponent's Tahtorak mount. It was made long enough for a rider to reach the chest of an opponent's Tahtorak. The rider wielding this weapon would charge the other Tahtorak, driving the tip of the lance several feet deep into its armor. The Skakdi then pressed a button to trigger an explosive charge at the tip of the weapon, which killed or mortally wounded the Tahtorak from the inside. Originally, the explosion would render the Devastator useless after each kill, but eventually the power of regeneration Kanoka was integrated into its design so that it could re-form a working bomb after any fight. Because of its length, the lance was difficult to life and control, so only the strongest Skakdi were able to use this weapon.1
