The Dark Hunter-Brotherhood of Makuta War was a conflict sparked over 1,000 years ago when the Shadowed One discovered that Makuta Teridax had killed two Dark Hunters in his service, Nidhiki and Krekka. The war raged across many lands, with the Dark Hunters employing guerrilla tactics against the more powerful Brotherhood. Up until the Toa Mahri's mission the war remained a stalemate, largely because the Brotherhood was unwilling to devote its full attention to it.1
