De-Matoran were very sensitive to noise, so they trained themselves from early on not to make any more noise than was necessary. Their hearing was so acute that they could understand whispered speech from a kio away. They hated loud sounds. Vultraz was able to use a sound grenade to knock a village of De-Matoran unconscious.1
There was a small village of De-Matoran on the Tren Krom peninsula. The De-Matoran here lived in absolute silence, since they hated noise. For this reason, they did not allow Toa into the village, since Toa tended to attract battles.1
