The razor-edged protosteel shield1, also called simply a shield2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, was a large shield-like weapon carried by Nuparu when he was a Toa Mahri. It could be used both defensively2, 4, 7 and offensively, able to be held as a shield or hurled.1 It was made of protosteel and was as tough as Makuta armor. Its edges were sharp enough to slice through stone.1
Nuparu acquired the shield when he was transformed by the Mask of Life from a Toa Inika into a Toa Mahri. It is not clear which, if any, of Nuparu's prior equipment transformed into the shield. Nuparu presumably continued to use the shield on Spherus Magna.
