Hapaka were large hound-like Rahi. The Ga-Matoran briefly employed them to drive away Kavinika with mixed success.1, 2 Although the Hapaka were certainly fierce enough, they were easily distracted by the chance to chase other Rahi.2

Hapaka were native to the mountainous regions of Mata Nui, where they bounded from rock to rock with sure-footed ease. Natural herders with a sharp, barking cry, they were often trained to guard Po-Koro's precious Maha [sic, Mahi] and Husi flocks. They were friendly and curious creatures that made loyal pets and companions.3
