- In Fall 2006, Greg Farshtey was asked why electricity or lightning wasn't a Toa element. He replied that there was no reason to include it at this point, but he wouldn't rule it out as an element. He clarified that if he introduced it, it would have to be a cameo character because no set would match that element.2
- Greg Farshtey was asked in February 2007 about whether certain powers seen in the story, primarily Makuta powers, could be elements. The only one he felt could likely be an element was electricity.3
