The Kanohi Kraahkan was the Great Mask of Shadows worn by Makuta. The Kraahkan was capable of creating darkness, anger, and fear. Its origin was unknown, although legends hinted that it may have been created on the island of Artakha. The mask was capable of changing shape along with Makuta as needed.2
Notes
Makuta wore the Kanohi Kraahkan, the Mask of Shadows, which could be used to turn friends against each other or fill the heart of the bravest hero with fear.3
Teridax's Kanohi Kraahkan was created on Artakha.4
There was likely only one Kraahkan.5, 6
It's unlikely that only one Kraahkan was made.7
The Kanohi Kraahkan, the Great Mask of Shadows, was worn by Makuta Teridax and later Makuta Icarax. It was capable of creating darkness, anger, and fear. Its origin was unknown. It was destroyed when Icarax perished.8
If the Kraahkan was created by enslaved mask makers as legends stated, those mask makers were Matoran.9
The Kraahkan could warp shadows into shapes and create solid objects out of shadow.10
The Kraahkan was a Great Kanohi, not a Legendary one.11
The Kraahkan wasn't legendary and may not have been one of a kind.12
The standard form of the Kraahkan has not been revealed.13
The Kraahkan wasn't sentient, its ability to detect whether it was being touched by certain types of beings was more of an alarm system.14
Other Information
- Greg Farshtey stated the back of the Kraahkan in set form did not represent the Mask of Light and Shadow because it looked nothing like the mask in the movie. He speculated it was designed with a face to add value to the set rather than the story.15
- The promotional mask that came with the Ultimate Dume set was a Kraahkan.16
- The name of this mask wasn't a reference to the mythological Kraken and was never intended to be.17
